Tires Slashed on O Street
Several residents (apparently all of the 2nd NW Coops) woke up this morning to find that someone had slashed the tires of their cars parked on the 400 block of O Street next to Bundy Park. We spoke to one of the victims whose tires were being replaced this morning, who said that the tire slashings looked to be reprisals against coop residents who have been calling the police on criminal activities, adding "it seems like the more the neighborhood gets better, the more some people just want to make it worse."
Amen to that. And here's to the residents who have been brave enough to blow the whistle on malignant elements in the community--they deserve the thanks and support of everyone.

does the crime camera at 5th and O work?
I feel for them ... same thing has happened to me.
Disheartening news; hopefully the brave citizens who spoke up will continue to be vigilant and resilient despite these weak attempts at attempting to rule by fear.
We need to get on the dog-walkers-united front and start patrolling this area to help out.
Yesterday a roughly 6:30pm I saw the group of people (5-6) who hang out a 446 Q street, have a really great time as they hot wired a bronze Jeep (parked on the West Side of 5th Street just north of the corner of 5th and R) with Virgina tags and drove it around a breakneck speeds.
Called the police to report it, couldn't get the tags. They had no problems being witnessed by 3 other people.
