This was a year for razor-thin election margins, and our ANC was no exception. Here are the pre-certified election results (including absentee votes) posted on the DCBOEE website:

ANC 2C02, 2004 Elections

Looks like there was a mass exodus of people who slipped secretly out of LT's camp since the 2004 election. Perhaps the new results reflect how ineffective he has been at helping those of us who are lower income (who may have been part of his base) stay in the community. If only he had calculated to be more civil with just six more of his constituents or even widened his distribution list for community announcements by the same number, he could have continued to be a prominent leader in the community as it enjoys greater prosperity.
I suppose extending his tenure as an ANC leader wasn't worth the exta few pennies for more xeroxes.
His continued work with the glorious red hat patrols will show whether he and his troup still care about the community.
Spoke to a gentleman at the BOEE, (202) 727-2525, this morning, 9/20, and he told me the Board will have a meeting Tues. 9/21, at 10am, at 441 4th St NW, Ste. 280, to discuss the possibility of a recount in the ANC 2C02 race as well as (5-10) other ANC races in which there were similarly small vote splits. The meeting is open to the public.

oh good, because at 611 N street nw is a shelter with a certificate of occupancy for 12 with 50 eligible voters.
Recount. Not Re-vote. Hopefully this will help avoid a re-volt.

Kevin Chapple's ANC 2C02 victory, along with that of other successful candidates, was confirmed and read into the official election record by Alice P Miller, Executive Director, DC BOEE, at 11:15 am this morning, 11/21/2006.
THANK YOU JESUS!
DC BOEE, when asked, told me today that LT has asked to prolong this election agony with a recount.
